Aston Martin Detailing - Paint Correction Detail DB7 Vantage

November 6, 2016

Our client contacted us looking to have his Aston Martin Vantage detailing before listing it for sale. Looking to achieve maximum re-sale value his list of requirements were extensive. A single stage machine polish, application of new Paint Protection Film to the side skirts, engine bay detail, four wheel alloy refurb and an interior detail.

We were left with the car for as long as we needed in our secure workshop, so once the vehicle had been thoroughly prepped and cleaned down, we removed the wheels and sent them for a refurbishment at our local specialist.

We then began the Paint Correction stage of the Aston Martin detail. A single stage machine polishing using the Rupes Bigfoot machines and Sonax Perfect finish yielded brilliant results removing 70 to 80 percent of swirling and light scratches.

To tidy things up, we sanded down and re-painted the hubs in factory silver. This was done using heat resistant paint, which was then lacquered with heat resistant lacquer to ensure a lasting, quality finish.

Once completed, the newly refurbished alloy wheels were sealed with Swissvax Autobahn Wheel Wax and re-fitted to the Aston. We then torqued the wheels to the manufacturer spec.

We then removed the old and worn Paint Protection Film, and our sister company Autofilm Solutions re-fitted SunTek Self Healing PPF. This is newer technology and better quality film which is proven to be optically clearer and offer more protection. It is also self healing so it will maintain it's like new finish for longer.

To provide last step protection, Swissvax Shield was applied to the vehicle over two layers. This will keep the paintwork in good condition whilst being inspected by potential buyers and test driven.

With the interior albeit very immaculate, a simple gentle clean of the leather was all that was required, whilst the engine bay was tended to more thoroughly. Bolts were re-finished and all plastics were dressed once cleaned. We also spent time applying SiRamik SC15 to the exterior plastics to restore their like new appearance.

After a number of days of detailing, the car was now looking significantly better in every department, here are some finished photos and walk around video.
